The art glass you see here is known
as hand blown or lampworked glass.
Each piece is individually hand sculpted in
the torch flame, and then carefully annealed
in a digitally controlled kiln.
Some of the pieces have also been cold worked.
This process involves cutting the flameworked
glass on a diamond tipped wet saw, and then
polishing it on a lapidary wheel.
Precious metals of gold and silver are fumed
into some of the glass pieces while worked
in the flame, and Gilson opals are also used
as elements in the sculpting process.
Various semi precious gems and crystals
are incorporated into the jewelry designs,
along with pewter and sterling silver.
